You have every right to a contract that meets your needs and
satisfaction and meets professional industry
standards. The buyer has every right to sleep as
well as the contractor.
The selection of a contractor is important. A professional
contractor should be able to show you not only examples of work
completed but also at least three references of former customers.
You must check out each of these customers to determine
their credibility and also check out the
examples used by the contractor for
accuracy.
You should contact your local city or county building department
which may have information about your contractor. The Better
Business Bureau is another source, especially for weeding out a
potentially troublesome contractor.
Once you have determined the credibility and capability of your
contractor you will want to give very serious consideration to
the contract.
