Remodeling Specialties

The right contractor and contract for the job.

For a general remodeling project you may choose a General Contractor or a Remodeling Contractor. The two types are usually interchangeable. A general might do all kinds of construction or specialize in remodeling.

If the project is more specialized, it would be wise to select a specialist. The same principles that apply to a remodeling contract also apply to those specialists doing any improvement to a residential project.

  • Electrical Contractor – new or old wiring

  • Flooring Contractor – new or refinishing hardwood floors

  • HVAC Contractor (Heating/Ventilation, Air conditioning)– new or repair

  • Lath and Plaster Contractor – new or repairing walls-drywall

  • Masonry Contractor – brickwork, block walls, stucco

  • Painting Contractor – inside or outside

  • Plumbing Contractor – installing new or repairing, may include solar

  • Roofing Contractor – installing new or repairing
